I can only imagine what a feeling it was being there, feet on the ground, as an American in Japan. Seeing their hospitality and their great spirits towards you and your group is something that truly makes a person smile inside. Reading your posts has once again shown me how valuable history is and that kids and me included look over it sometimes by just thinking it's in the past. This past weekend we remembered September 11th and I think me reading this post was very timely. Though time moves on and things change there are still people and families out there who will never forget what they've lost on these memorial days. History should never be forgotten but, should always be remembered and taught. A history teacher who travels to see history is truly inspiring and I hope I never get stuck in a classroom's four walls but, learn that education is everywhere.
