Thanks for the ideas, Eric. I've done some podcasting but would love to try a studycast with my students. I blogged about your presentation at http://edtechvision.org/?p=92

Hi Eric. I was in your Seattle presentation although I have been following your blog for some time so I know a lot about your advocacy for technology integration. Two quick questions: I noticed that you use Slideshare: how do you get your unique/special fonts to show up? Every time I upload a PowerPoint, it replaced all non-mainstream fonts with replacements... a real pain. Second: can you give me/us a sense of what a standard lesson plan week/month/unit looks like? It sounds like you do a fair amount of technology projects, however, you seem to vary up your instruction including more traditional lectures and other activities. Thanks for being a great advocate of technology integration!

  4. Jason - Hello. Thanks for attending my session in Seattle. I'll try to answer your questions: 1) I have never had any trouble with odd fonts not showing up in Slideshare but I can tell you that most of the different fonts I use in my presentations are actually images that I created in the Fireworks graphic editing program and then just place in my presentation. It takes me a little long sometimes but I think they come out looking better sometimes because I can add a shadow effect just the way I want, etc. In response to question #2 - I don't use technology everyday and I do try to mix it up. I think if I had a classroom with a 1-1 ratio of computers to students I'd use them more often but right now it is more of an enrichment rather than required. If you would like to see what we do on a daily basis in class please check out my classroom BlackBoard site where I post my lesson plans for the entire week all year long. It might give you a better idea of what we do in terms of notes, etc. http://blackboard.liberty.k12.mo.us/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp?tab=courses&url=/bin/common/course.pl?course_id=_275_1

Thanks again for attending the session and let me know if you have any other questions.

    Eric
