2010 Presentation - A Dozen Ways to Incorporate Technology into the History Classroom

  1. Hello! This is Kathleen from Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class. I really liked this presentation. Though I am going to be an English teacher instead of History, I still see this as very helpful. This may be goofy but I got really excited about what I can use in my future class and how I will use them when I saw all of your ideas. I think that I could have fun making some lessons and my students could have fun and really learn with technology in my classroom.

Thanks for this great post! I wish you had turned THIS into a webinar! I'm sure there are a lot of great ideas that you didn't put onto the slides!

I can see many ways that I could use these ideas to help all students (11th grade - Modern World History) gain a better understanding of the material, as well as to customize their own experience in class.

I am very excited to start implementing some of these ideas!

Thanks for such a great blog!

  3. Hi, I am Brittany Lewis. I am currently enrolled in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 course. In this course we are taught to integrate technology into our soon-to-be classrooms. In a few semesters I will be a secondary English teacher. I own a facebook and Twitter account, but I have leaned about a lot more technological advances I could be using. Thank you so much for the tips, I will definitely be using many of your ideas!

  4. Thank you so much for your presentation! The visuals helped me to see what some of these programs are really about. I've heard of many, used some of them, and have learned of new ones from your presentation. I've heard of Wordle and now see what it can do. I plan on experimenting with this program!
I am taking EDM310 under Dr. John Strange at the University of South Alabama. He is having us explore and use some of the programs you have in your presentation. Now, I have an excellent visual on the programs I haven't explored yet. Dr. Strange should consider sharing your presentation to his next EDM310 class as part of an introduction to what students will be learning.
I will be following and commenting on your blog for the next couple of weeks. My blog is and our class blog is
Thanks for sharing some very good information.
